Accomplishments
- Vice President for Primary Care at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA, where he developed and implemented an advanced primary care medical home practice in nine sites with 26 physicians.
- Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine (UCSD), and at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC).
- Nationally reknowned for major contributions to the advancement of clinical office redesign using information technology and quality improvement tools.
- Recognized as “Top Doc” in San Diego for 6 consecutive years (2004 – 2009).
- Serves on the editorial board of Medical Economics and is an Assistant Editor of Family Medicine.
- Dr. Scherger served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Board of Family Medicine.
