Alta Bates Medical Group
Alta Bates Medical Group wanted to refresh its Web site and update it to accommodate a physician portal which would deploy online tools for patient care:
- E-Prescribing
- Laboratory results
- Referrals
- Patient e-mail communications
The physician practices also required assistance learning about and working with RelayHealth, SutterConnect, and LabCorp Web-based services.
Coordinating its work with other vendors, Lumetra Healthcare Solutions contracted with Alta Bates Medical Group to assist its member practices in the adoption of electronic health information systems and to develop tools to measure medical offices processes both pre- and post-adoption.
Online software tools training sessions were conducted at over 25 practice locations. In addition, a dashboard was created that documents each practice’s environment and volume for RelayHealth and SutterConnect electronic transactions. With our guidance, the Web site was also redesigned.
Among the successful results of the project were implementation of e-mail communication to member practices, identification of a physician-sponsor for the project, education and training of office practice managers and physicians, and the development of pilot practice dashboards with site statistics.
At the end of the day, Alta Bates Medical group had gained improved utilization of online software tools plus physician satisfaction, as well as a professional-looking, functional Web site.
