Health Alliance of Northern California
The Health Alliance of Northern California has several clinics preparing for Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation and the desire to make early connections with their Quality Improvement programs. “Meaningful Use” of health information technology is of critical interest to healthcare entities this year with national goals being set and resources being allocated. To maximize return on investment, organizations need expert advice and direction about system selection, program design, and integration with QI.
Lumetra Healthcare Solutions is uniquely qualified to meet this need, with several years experience helping hundreds of providers—hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and others—advance their EHR implementation plans, and make their QI programs productive.
We took a customized approach, first learning from the Health Alliance leadership group about the priorities and desired outcomes of this engagement. A one-day workshop was then conducted for clinic staff members who were involved in strategic planning for EHR implementation and also responsible for facilitating their clinical quality improvement program. Our consultants shared lessons learned and strategic tips from the field to inform the attendees’ decisions about selection, design, and staging their EHR program. In addition, strategies and tools for quality improvement activities were presented in hands-on, break-out sessions to equip participants for immediate usage of the tools in their individual settings.
Workshop participants left with new skills and knowledge to maximize their success with EHR implementation, to design systems for “meaningful use,” and to conduct effective QI activities that achieve desired results.
