Eligibility

Who is eligible for LEC services and incentives?

Priority Primary Care Providers (PPCPs) are targeted as the core professionals to receive technical assistance under the CalHIPSO program.  If you are a prescribing health care provider in California (MD, DO, PA, NP, CNMW) and work in an ambulatory care setting, you are eligible to join CalHIPSO now. Priority primary care providers (PPCPs) will receive access to subsidized services, and membership fees for PPCPs are currently being waived through December 31, 2011.

PPCP CalHIPSO membership benefits include:

  • Organization eligible for subsidy of core REC technical assistance services, up to 10 providers as they progress to achieving meaningful use. May have to pay for additional services based on practice need.
  • Access to Group Purchasing, education and training, and other CalHIPSO services at no charge.

Can I receive services if I am in Specialty practice or a non-eligible primary care provider?

Yes, services are available to non-PPCPs on a fee-for-service basis at competitive rates. Non-PPCPs (specialists, providers in groups over 10 who do not serve an underserved population, as defined by the ONC) pay fees at the time of enrollment.

  • Access to Group Purchasing, educational materials such as webinars, and other CalHIPSO services at no charge.
  • 50% discount on practice assessment resulting in a Practice Service Plan outlining needs and costs for successful EHR adoption.
  • Will not receive federal subsidy for REC technical assistance services provided by Local Extension Centers or CalHIPSO, but can purchase reduced fee-based services.
