A New Name and a New Strategy to Meet New Challenges

I am very pleased to announce our organization’s new name: LUMETRA HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS. This new name, together with our new logo, more accurately represents our services and the value of our solutions. As my message last month indicated, Lumetra Healthcare Solutions is now focusing on an integrated clinical, analytical, and technological solution for the business of healthcare, with the goal of reducing complexities and costs while improving patient outcomes.

As a result, our Health Information Technology (HIT) division, Illumisys, has now been merged with Lumetra Healthcare Solutions. John Weir, formerly president of Illumisys, is now president of Lumetra Healthcare Solutions. Illumisys staff and clients are now part of our new organization. Bernard Baskin will continue as our Chief Financial Officer.

Formerly, the organization was structured around our capabilities; the management and consulting operations of Lumetra Healthcare Solutions is organized around these markets for our services:

  • Healthcare Services: providers, payors, life sciences organizations
  • Government Services: federal, state, and international government

Diabetes can take a huge toll on health and doubles the risk of death. Common complications include heart disease, stroke, hypertension, blindness, kidney disease, lower-extremity amputations, and nerve damage. Diabetes is also a very costly disease with total healthcare and related costs for treatment reaching $174 billion annually.

The good news is that diabetes and its complications can be prevented. Studies have shown that people with pre-diabetes can prevent or delay diabetes and return their blood glucose levels to normal by losing weight (>… Read More
