2009: A Year of Turbulence Ending in Hope

This has been a difficult year for many individuals and organizations. It was made more complex by a severe downturn in the economy and a slow-down in contracts awarded by the federal government. The severe budget deficit in California and a reluctance by organizations to spend money due to credit scarcity and healthcare reform uncertainty also contributed to these difficulties. As we end the year, the economic indicators are improving, and there is some optimism in the outlook for business in 2010.

We still do not have healthcare reform passed at the federal level. We do, however, know what needs to change to make healthcare better.
